Join Omexom as a Trainee - Assistant Gas Distribution Fitter and become part of a team that helps keep communities connected through safe and reliable gas networks.

This entry-level role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning practical skills, and being part of a supportive team. You'll receive on-the-job training from experienced professionals while gaining industry knowledge. No two days are the same, with opportunities to work on gas installations, maintenance, repairs, and network projects across the region.

Accountabilities:

• Assisting in the performance of natural gas pipeline maintenance and construction work to client specifications.
• Assisting in the response to emergency faults and leakage on the gas network within planned response times.
• Assisting with the installation of mains and service pipelines, as per job instructions and specifications, meeting current regulations and standards.
• Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client’s plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement.
• Understand and comply with your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all associated regulations, standards, and approved codes of practice.
• Understand and comply with all the company health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Working towards a minimum of Level 2 National Certificate in network construction, or a relevant equivalent New Zealand Gas Industry qualification
