About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Senior Project Manager role just for you! In this position, you will plan and implement all projects to ensure they are completed on time, to an appropriate quality standard and to achieve planned profit or better as per project bid margin targets, making a real impact.

•    Planning the project utilising computer-based planning packages to ensure milestones are achieved and resources optimised.
•    Achieving project margins, identifying problems with cost and time implications and taking corrective-action as required.
•    Carrying out all required company and contractual reporting correctly and on time.
•    Ensuring good governance in respect of all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
•    Ensuring continuous improvements occur within the company Management Systems.
•    Assisting Project Managers from other areas in the recovery of poor performing contracts.
•    Managing, developing and mentoring staff performing a variety of roles at various levels.
•    Re-estimating labour to complete the job at the end of each month.
•    Ensuring all variations are identified, submitted and authorised by the client.
•    Ensuring that both the company and the client comply with the Contract Agreement.
•    Understand and comply with your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all associated regulations, standards, and approved codes of practice.
•    Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you by the company relating to health and safety

Qualifications and Skills

•    Engineering Degree or similar.
•    Possess estimating/tendering skills, with an ability to be hands-on.

•    Proven experience in primary and secondary electrical design for high-voltage (HV) substations under an EPC framework, with expertise in conducting technical reviews of contractor drawings, equipment specifications, and protection settings
•    Electrical or professional registration is preferred.
•    Proven experience in a senior management role
•    Ability to manage projects across a wide range of electrical disciplines.
•    Hands-on experience in electrical and construction project management.
•    A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
•    Knowledge of industry contracting procedures and contract law.
•    Excellent inter-personal skills with customers at all levels.
•    Experience in and ability to mentor other project managers as required.
•    Hold a full Class 1 NZ driver’s license
•    Attention to detail and confident decision-making ability
