About the Role

As our Warehouse & Procurement Manager, you’ll lead the warehouse and procurement function supporting the Wellington Electricity contract. This is a varied leadership role responsible for ensuring our operational teams have the materials, equipment and vehicles they need, when they need them. You’ll oversee warehouse and inventory operations, procurement and supplier relationships, fleet and facilities, while leading your team and driving improvements in efficiency, reliability and service delivery. 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of warehouse and stores activities, ensuring effective, safe and reliable service to operational teams
  • Maintain strong inventory control and stock accuracy, including stocktaking, availability and critical spares management
  • Manage procurement activities and supplier relationships, including negotiating competitive pricing and monitoring supplier performance
  • Oversee fleet and facilities management, ensuring vehicles, assets and depot infrastructure are maintained and fit for operational needs
  • Partner with operational managers to forecast material, equipment and resource requirements and support successful contract delivery
  • Lead, support and develop the Warehouse and Procurement team, setting clear expectations and building a collaborative, customer-focused culture
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including improvements to systems, processes, productivity and service delivery
  • Champion health, safety, environment and quality practices, promoting a strong safety culture across warehouse and stores operations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Stores, Inventory, Procurement or Supply Chain Accreditation
  • Forklift licence, F Endorsement and OSH certification is desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
  • Confidence using relevant systems, software, and digital tools.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable legislation, policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and practically.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
