About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We have an exciting Project Supervisor role in our Distribution Project Services Business Unit. 

At Omexom, the job title is also known as a Technical Coordinator. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance and project activities associated with ground mounted and underground equipment and assets across the Auckland Distribution Network.   

Working closely with Project Managers, field crews, customers, and key stakeholders, you will coordinate field activities, prepare work packs, support outage planning, assist with switching plans and material requirements, and provide on-site supervision to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a highest standard. 

While the role is primarily focused on maintenance and project activities associated with ground-mounted and underground distribution assets, it also provides exposure to a broad range of work across the Auckland Distribution Network, with opportunities to support and coordinate overhead maintenance and project activities as required.

The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like:

• Plan and coordinate project activities alongside Project Managers, customers, design teams, and technical staff 
• Develop and implement safe, efficient, and cost-effective work methods and procedures 
• Coordinate resources and project delivery activities to meet program requirements 
• Provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to field teams 
• Assist with project scoping, estimating, and pricing activities 
• Support project reporting, scope variations, and claims 
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks 
• Contribute to inspection, testing, and commissioning documentation 
• Monitor project costs and support budget management 
• Ensure all work complies with contractual, safety, environmental, and quality requirements 
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders 

Qualifications and Skills

• A trade qualification in Electricity Distribution or a related industry 
• EWRB Registration as a Cable Jointer, Electrician or Line Mechanic/Lineman  
• Proven experience in distribution network construction and maintenance 
• Strong knowledge of current industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
• Good computer literacy and administrative capability 
• A strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement
