You will also be required to be included in the Standby Roster for after-hours and weekend fault response.

About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Faultman role just for you! 

The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like:

  • Responding to, assessing and attending to all assigned service requests within service levels
  • Performing high voltage switching and isolation of plant
  • Carrying out repair and maintenance work to Omexom and customer standards
  • Identifying and reporting any unscheduled work to enable recording of network equipment that is not safe or functional
  • Reporting any events/incidents as soon as reasonably practical and stopping work and reporting concerns to the immediate supervisor if there are any concerns for personal safety
  • Ensuring the appropriate plant and equipment to carry out the prescribed task is available and safe to operate and taking personal care of plant and equipment to maintain it's safe to operate condition
  • Understand and comply with your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and all associated regulation, standards, and approved codes of practice
  • Understand and comply with all Omexom health and safety policies and procedures
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons
  • Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you by Omexom relating to health and safety

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Qualified and registered Line Mechanic
  • Switching training and experience
  • Heavy vehicle licence (minimum class 2)
  • Faultman network warrants and Transpower switching (desirable)
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of electricity distribution networks
  • Demonstrate a 'can-do' attitude and interact positively with customers, business partners and other team members
  • Sound computer skills
  • High voltage protection system commissioning experience and confidence to make decisions autonomously
  • Possess a valid full and clean NZ driver’s license
