About the Role
Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Electrician role just for you! In this position, you’ll get to provide an electrical trade's service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical services expected of a qualified electrician, making a real impact.
Key Accountabilities
- Explain appliance operations to clients and complete all required documentation.
- Connect and disconnect fixed‑wired appliances, test and inspect supply voltage, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Install and test earthing systems, cable support systems, power supplies, luminaires, switchboards, and emergency lighting in line with current standards and job specifications.
- Perform electrical testing to regulatory requirements and complete all associated compliance documentation.
- Ensure personal competency, training, and licences are current and appropriate for assigned tasks.
- Ensure all plant, tools, and equipment are available, safe to operate, and properly maintained.
- Use all required safety equipment, PPE, guards, and barriers to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assess installation requirements (type, size, position) and consult with clients or supervisors as needed.
- Resolve technical issues that fall outside standard operating procedures.
- Adapt to changing conditions such as weather, resource availability, materials, and site constraints.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required
- A trade qualification as an electrician for underground, and line mechanic for overhead work.
- A glove and barrier registration is a prerequisite for overhead lines.
- An EWRB Inspector registration is a prerequisite for underground cables and connections.
- Hands-on experience in commercial, industrial, or high voltage electrical work to industry standards.
- A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
