About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Trainee Electrician role just for you! In this position, you’ll obtain a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrician for Registration) Level 4 or National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Electrical) Level 4 and Electrical Worker’s Registration Board (EWRB) registration as an Electrician, making a real impact.

•    Completing required electrical theory, workshop-based assessments, on-the-job learning, training courses, and ITO paperwork to complete relevant electrical trade qualifications and registration.
•    Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work.
•    Working on electrical systems.
•    Using machinery plant and equipment in an electrical environment.
•    Determining the condition of electrical installations.
•    Understanding EWRB safe working practices.
•    Developing work plans for construction and servicing electrical equipment.
•    Carrying out works as per industry agreed timeframes.
•    Carrying out work to a high standard of installation.
•    Working in a safe manner including interaction with your peers.
•    Flexibility required in dealing with adverse weather, resource, materials, and other conditions.
•    Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others. 
•    Setting a personal example on all matters of health and safety and participate in Perimeter/BU worker participation practices

Qualifications and Skills

•    A minimum of NCEA Level 1 or equivalent is required, with English and Mathematics at a minimum of NCEA Level 1 or equivalent.
•    Electrical Trade certificate an advantage.
•    An awareness of industry safety requirements.
•    Previous experience and aptitude for outdoor work.
•    Flexibility to work intermittent or long hours when required.
•    Possess a valid Class 1 NZ driver’s license. 
•    Be self-motivated and proactive.
•    Possess a “can-do” attitude.
•    Works well within a team environment or independently
