We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with an industrial electrical background to join our Industrial Power Solutions team based in Mt Wellington.
This role is suited to someone who has delivered electrical projects in live, operational environments and is comfortable managing complexity across HV, MV, LV, instrumentation, and control systems. If your background includes industrial plants, infrastructure sites, brownfield upgrades, or shutdown works, we would like to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of electrical projects from planning through to delivery, with a strong focus on safe execution, programme certainty, and commercial outcomes.
You will:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of industrial and infrastructure electrical projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage works across HV, MV, LV, instrumentation, and control, often within live or operational environments.
- Coordinate closely with self-perform field teams, supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient site execution.
- Plan and manage project programmes, resources, procurement, and logistics to support safe and productive delivery.
- Proactively manage project risks, variations, and change, ensuring commercial impacts are clearly understood and approved.
- Maintain accurate contract, cost, and progress reporting in line with company and client requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all project activities.
What We’re Looking For
Non-negotiables:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical, commercial, and programme information to a wide range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative, delivery-focused mindset, comfortable working closely with site teams and client representatives.
- A practical, customer-focused approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience managing industrial electrical projects, including one or more of the following: high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage, instrumentation, or control systems.
- Experience working in brownfield or live environments, where safety, planning, and coordination are critical.
- A hands-on approach to project management, with sound estimating, cost control, and commercial management capability.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements relevant to electrical works.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence.
Preferred (but not required):
- Engineering degree, NZCE, or similar qualification.
