About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We’ve got an exciting Electrician role just for you! In this position, you’ll provide an electrical trade’s service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical services expected of a qualified electrician, making a real impact.

•    Performing high voltage maintenance and construction work to client specifications
•    Responding to emergency fault breakdown work within response times
•    Installing substation and other high voltage equipment as per job instructions and specifications
•    Installing and testing earthing systems in accordance with regulations and standards, and completing necessary documentation
•    Installing switchboards to current regulations, standards, energy requirements and specifications.
•    Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client’s plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement.
•    Flexibility required in dealing with adverse weather, resource, materials, and other conditions.
•    Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others. 
•    Setting a personal example on all matters of health and safety and participate in Perimeter/BU worker participation practices.

Qualifications and Skills

•    A trade qualification as electrician and registration with current practising licence preferred.
•    EWRB Practicing License Required.
•    HV experience would be an advantage, but more importantly is your ability to interpret and understand wiring diagrams and build systems from the ground up. Full HV training will be provided.
•    Hands-on experience in commercial, industrial, or high voltage electrical work to industry standards.
•    A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
•    Possess a valid full and clean Class 1 NZ driver’s license.
•    An absolute commitment to working safely.
•    Be self-motivated and proactive.
•    Can manage time and priorities.
•    Possess a “can-do” attitude.
•    Works well within a team environment or independently.
