We currently have exciting opportunities for Distribution Line Mechanic positions. 

The successful candidates will work on tasks like: 

•    Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work
•    Climbing and working on electricity network structure
•    Assisting in installation and maintenance of transformers – for those working in our Power Services division
•    Using lines machinery plant and equipment in an electricity network environment
•    Determining the condition of electricity supply lines
•    Applying earths to and removing earths from overhead electricity supply line conductors
•    Developing work plans for construction and servicing overhead electricity supply lines and equipment
•    Joining electricity network overhead conductors
•    Replacing load bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 33 kV
•    Installing and replacing electricity network pole structures and overhead conductors
•    Operating ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electricity lines up to 33 kV
•    Installing electricity network overhead conductors
•    Removing electricity network overhead pole line installations up to 110 kV
•    Rigging electrical network structures
•    Installing pad and structure mounted electrical equipment
•    Installing and replacing aerial bundled conductors and associated line hardware

 

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered, you will have:

•    EWRB – Practicing License or Limited Certificate as a Distribution Line Mechanic. 
•    Relevant Trade qualification.
•    At least 3 years of hands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standards.
•    A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
•    Valid Driver’s License (NZ or overseas)
•    Available to participate in a standby roster.
