PROJECT PŌNEKE
Omexom has recently secured the Wellington Electricity - Field Services Agreement and is seeking skilled people to join our team and help establish this new partnership and operation.
Job Opportunity: Electrical Fitter
Business Unit: Planned Works
Location: Based in Wellington Region but will also include travel for work
Contract: Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week minimum)
Hours: Generally, Monday – Friday or as agreed and depending on the role, weekend work may be required to participate in a standby roster.
Hourly Rate: $30 - $42/hr
THE ROLE
To provide an electrical trade’s service to Omexom, covering the full range of electrical and substations services expected of a qualified electrical fitter.
KEY DUTIES
• Performing high voltage maintenance and construction work to client specifications.
• Identifying unscheduled work to ensure that client equipment is fully maintained.
• Responding to emergency fault breakdown work within planned response times.
• Installing substation and other high voltage equipment, as per job instructions and specifications, meeting current regulations and standards.
• Ensuring optimal reliability and performance of the client’s plant and equipment by completing projects and maintenance work on time and to requirement.
• Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
• Complying and cooperating with any reasonable instruction, policy, statement or procedure by the company to allow it to comply with its duties and obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Omexom integrated management system.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
• EWRB registration as electrician or electrical fitter.
• Full, clean Driver’s License
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in substations and other high voltage electrical work to industry standards.
• A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements pertaining to the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
• Ability to participate in a standby roster which includes weekend work How to apply
