PROJECT PŌNEKE
Omexom has recently secured the Wellington Electricity - Field Services Agreement and is seeking skilled people to join our team and help establish this new partnership and operation.
Job Opportunity: Distribution Faultman, 3 positions available
Business Unit: Reactive Services
Location: Based in Wellington Region. This role will include travel for work.
Contract: Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week minimum)
Hours: Monday – Sunday on a rotating roster. May also be required to participate in a standby roster
Hourly Rate: $35 - $49.60
THE ROLE
To respond to, assess and carry out all assigned fault service requests, ensuring Dispatch is kept informed of status and progress
KEY DUTIES
Responding to, assessing and attending to all assigned service requests within service levels.
• Performing high voltage switching and isolation of plant.
• Carrying out repair and maintenance work to Omexom and customer standards.
• Identifying and reporting any unscheduled work to enable recording of network equipment that is not safe or functional.
• Ensuring that vehicles and allocated equipment are well presented and maintained.
• Working to achieve key performance indicators (KPI’s) and Omexom operational and quality processes.
• Completing all required paperwork and records within specified timeframes.
• Understanding and implementing the company health and safety policy and taking reasonable care of own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
EDUCATION
• EWRB registration as a Distribution Line Mechanic.
• Switching training and experience.
• Full, clean Driver’s License.
• Desirable to have recently held faultman network warrants and Transpower switching.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
• At least 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in all aspects of electricity distribution networks.
• A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
• Motivated individual who has effective time management skills.
• Team player who is willing to go the extra mile.
• Is able to work independently and without supervision.
• Able to participate in a standby roster
• Demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude and interact positively with customers, business partners and other team members.
